About Geneva, Switzerland

Geneva has been steeped in history since its inception around 100 BC. It is the well-known meeting place of the Geneva Convention and many agencies of the United Nations are located here too. Many of the city's momentous landmarks and museums play into its hand in shaping the world as we know it today; it is considered a truly global city.

In a survey as recent as 2007, Geneva was also considered to have the second highest quality of life in the world, only ousted by its brother city Zurich. This fact shows in every facet of what makes Geneva so special like the famous lake front, beautifully preserved old town and pride in floral bounties. The fact that the world's very first humane organization, the Red Cross and Red Crescent, were begun here too also plays into the pride in life found in Geneva and its citizens.
