Situated on the south coast of Tenerife, Costa del Silencio (“The Silent Coast”) was one of the island’s first developed resorts, dating back to the beginning of mass tourism in the 1960s. This occurred in the form of the Ten Bel complex – a joint venture between Tenerife and Belgium businesses. Fifty years later, the complex still dominates the centre of the resort, though it has become overshadowed by more modern developments.
The resort’s lack of a beach makes it less-family friendly than some of its coastal counterparts, but travelling to neighbouring districts is so easy that this is only a minor convenience. In a nutshell, Costa del Silencio is an ideal destination for water sport enthusiasts, families with teenagers and couples of all ages.
