The hotel has retained its historical features and has one of the most impressive entrances in Amsterdam.
The rooms are medium to large in size and decorated in old English style. The rooms vary slightly as they have been individually designed to reflect the building's historic past. They have views onto the 17th century canals, the secluded garden or the paved inner courtyard. The bathrooms, like the rooms, are in excellent condition and decorated in marble with gold taps.
The renowned restaurant is located on the ground floor and offers a buffet breakfast and a French influenced lunch and dinner menu. It is decorated in an art deco style and overlooks the canal. There is also a lovely garden where meals may be taken, weather permitting. The restaurant will benefit from a major renovation in 2009.
This hotel is located in the old part of Amsterdam overlooking the main canal and is just a short walk from the railway. It is a former 16th century Royal Inn and was the setting for the wedding of Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands.
With its high quality of service and once the renovations are over, this will definitely be one of the best hotels in Amsterdam, offering the service and accommodation that one would expect from a true deluxe property.
