This hotel was opened in 1962 and is located in the fortress of Valenca overlooking the Tuy-Valenca border and is in a perfect location for visitors entering and leaving the country. The area is a popular holiday destination in summer with 2 spas (melgaco and moncao) nearby. A good trip to make is to follow the river Minho, which the Pousada overlooks. The pousada is 52 kms from Viana de Castelo and 122 kms from Oporto.
Its cuisine delicacies are among the best of the Minho regional traditions.
