The rooms are comfortable with wooden floors and elegant furniture giving a very cosy feel to it. They are equipped with all the modern comforts (air conditioning, mini-bar, satellite TV), they also have a small terrace with views of the surrounding areas.

Light and airy restaurant offering a varied buffet of international cuisine.

The hotel was fully renovated during winter 2007. It is ideally situated in a residential area, moments from the port promenade and within walking distance of the city centre and the main tourist attractions. 200 metres from the hotel, guests will find several bus stops going towards the town centre or the beaches. Those buses run approximately every 10 minutes. The hotel is located 10 kilometres from the airport.

The hotel has recently built an impressive 850 square metre health centre, including a stunning spa, gym, beauty centre, and a Japanese-designed solarium (health centre entrance fee: 10 EUR). There is also a large outdoor swimming pool surrounded by gardens.

***Renovation works will take place on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor rooms until June 2010.***

Isla Mallorca was a fairly nice hotel, but only if you are staying in the main hotel building rather than in the spa building. The older rooms are located in the spa building and if you are keen on having a romantic holiday then perhaps you will agree with me in thinking that two twin bed pushed together is not terribly attractive. The newer rooms in the main building are clean, modern, well designed, and if you are luck enough (or want to splurge) to get a room on the higher floors you will have a great balcony view of the courtyard or the sea. The outdoor pool in the courtyard was small but pleasant (though it got very busy as the weekend approached).

Besides the incongruity of the rooms, one great aspect of the hotel is that they offer free bikes for guests to use...but make sure you pick up your bike at 9 AM because otherwise you may be out of luck! We HIGHLY recommend taking the bikes out for a spin because there is an excellent bike path all along the waterfront which takes you all the way around the bay. Also I will say that the 12 euro buffet breakfast is not terribly worth it...especially because there is a large grocery store right around the corner! The staff were very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area and made decent restaurant suggestions. If we could make a suggestion: our favourite restaurant was called Lizarran, which boasted a perfect traditional, and affordable Spanish tapas spread. Also the acclaimed Tasca de Blanquerna was great and very innovative.

Finally, the hotel was a little far from the centre of Palma (about a 20 minute walk...not bad but it gets a little confusing navigating around the area). But, all in all we had a very nice stay and recommend the Isla Mallorca!
