This is a purpose built single storey hotel with brown wood walls.
The rooms are small and simple but functional. They are decorated in neutral colours with plain, but good quality, furniture and vinyl floors. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in very good condition.
The restaurant is a large room with a sloping wooden ceiling. It is also furnished with functional business-like furniture.
This hotel is set in the heart of one of Iceland's most historic areas just a short drive from Thingvellir, Geysir and South West Iceland's dramatic coastline. It is just a couple of hundred metres from a lake into which flows a river of steaming water produced by one of Iceland's most modern power stations nearby. This gives the entire area an eerie, magical quality and gives an unforgettable first impression on approaching the hotel.
This is a fine, but basic hotel, typical of this excellent chain. It's location in the hills of this magical area is both breathtaking and practical as a base from which to explore the South West of Iceland. RY0106
