This is a discreet, but attractive building, blending in nicely with its grand neighbours.

The rooms are of varying sizes, but on average they are large. They are decorated in elegant, grand style, but have not been refurbished for some years and therefore appear a little dated in some respects. Nonetheless, the furniture and fittings are of a high standard and kept in good condition. The bathrooms are also a bit old fashioned, but are serviceable and also in good condition.

The restaurant is very stylish and serves modern European cuisine.

This hotel is located in a peaceful area of Zurich behind its opera house. The lake, the old town (Niederdorf), and Bellevue are all just a short and pleasant stroll away.

This hotel will appeal to those who prefer their hotels in the grand, traditional mould and can overlook the fact that some elements could ideally do with updating. PL 09/06
