The hotel also lies walking distance of the trendy Notting Hill area and the famous Portobello market. There are several tube stations in the proximity (nearest being Lancaster Gate, 3 min walk), providing easy access to any parts of central London. Paddington train station with direct train links to Heathrow airport is 5-min walk away. ***EXTERIOR*** The property is a 7-storey traditional Victorian townhouse dating back to 1860. ***LEISURE FACILITIES*** The hotel offers free use of its gym with cardiovascular equipment as well as free weights. ***ROOMS*** Rooms are reported to vary in size due to the historical nature of the building, but most are small to medium in size. Standard rooms are tastefully furnished in a simple, but elegant and modern style featuring dark wood furniture and white bed covers. By Underground: Lancaster Gate Station, on the Central Line, is the closest Underground Station to the hotel and is approximately a five minute walk away. Once out of the station, turn right and walk along Bayswater Road.Also within walking distance is Bayswater Station, for Circle- and District lines.From Heathrow: Take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station. Travel time is approximately 15 minutes and the trains depart from Heathrow every 15 minutes. The Commodore is a ten minutes walk away. You can also take the A1 airbus from Heathrow direct to Lancaster Gate. The bus stop is a one minute walk away from the hotel.From Gatwick: Take the Gatwick Express train to Victoria Railway Station. Travel time is approximately 30 minutes. We suggest that you take a taxi for the 10 - 15 minute drive to the hotel.
