The bedrooms vary a lot in size, but are on average small to medium. They are all decorated in the same pleasant modern style with shades of blue and light wooden furniture. The white tiled bathrooms are also small to average in size and in good condition.

The hotel has a cafe/bar overlooking the flower market offering a modest a la carte menu. There is also an excellent Italian restaurant on the first floor which is rather grand but authentically decorated.

The lobby and public areas are attractively decorated in Italian style using lots of marble and with minimal seating.

The building itself is very old, but has been restored to its former glory. Its typical Dutch style exterior blends in well with the neighbouring buildings.

ROUTE-DESCRIPTION FROM DEN HAAGSCHIPHOL TO THE JOLLY HOTEL CARLTONFollow the motorway (A4) in the direction of Amsterdam. At the end of the A4 you will reach the Ring (A10) around Amsterdam. Here you take the exit S110 (Centrum). At the first set of traffic lights you continue straight on into the Rijnstraat. After approximately 800 meters the Rijnstraat becomes the Van Woustraat. At the second big crossroads you take a left turn towards the Stadhouderskade. At the traffic lights (on your left hand you will see the Heineken brewery) you take a right turn. At the roundabout you continue straight on. You are now on the Vijzelgracht. At the and of this street the Jolly Hotel Carlton is situated on your left hand side.Total distance of journey: 57,5 km.Total time of journey: 42 minutes.

Rail: Amsterdam central - 1 1/2 km metro: Waterlooplein - 1 km airport:Amsterdam Schiphol - 15 km from the airport - follow the motorway A4 you will then reach the ring A10, exit 5110 and go straight on. At 2nd big crossroads turn left. At the traffic lights (Heineken brewery) turn right. At the roundabout go straight on, at the end of the Street the hotel is on the left. From station-go out of the train station and go straight on, on your right hand side you will see the Munt tower. Go right and the hotel is on your right.
