The Hampshire Inn - Prinsengracht, a cosy 3-star hotel situated on one of the prettiest stretches of the Prinsengracht canal in the heart of Amsterdam, is renowned for its excellent service and friendly staff. All rooms have either a canal view or a garden view. The hotel has a lift, a small bar and a breakfast room which looks onto the pleasant garden at the rear of the hotel. On one of the most well known canals in the city centre of Amsterdam, you will find the Hampshire Inn Prinsengracht. The hotel, a historical house along a canal, is situated in the old center, within 10 minutes walking distance from everything that Amsterdam can offer. Our hotel has 34 rooms with choices of standard single or double rooms, but we can also accommodate three or four people per room comfortably in one of our Deluxe and Superior rooms. Apart from the 33 rooms in the hotels main building, we also provide unique and charming accommodation in our gardenhouse located in the hotels garden.

This hotel is located in the centre of Amsterdam, on the beautiful Prinsen Canal, hence the name, Prinsengracht. It is within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions that Amsterdam has to offer, e.g. flower market, Rembrandtsplein, Leidseplein and Dam Square, and is also minutes from the main shopping district and a couple of tram stops from Central Station.

The bedrooms are small to medium and basic in decor but are clean, as are the bathrooms.

There is a breakfast room only which is located adjacent to the reception area/small lobby and which has recently been decorated.

The lobby is small and incorporates the breakfast room with views of the canal. It has recently been very attractively decorated and is a welcoming haven in this exciting city.

This is a traditional building in keeping with typical Amsterdam houses that line the canals of Amsterdam.

By car From the airport you follow the signs CENTRUM and you will enter the ringroad A10. You get off at exit S109 (RAI) and take a right at the first traffic light. At the roundabout you take a right again, which now takes you down the President Kennedylaan. When you see the sign Utrecht on your right hand side you turn to the left into the Rijnstraat. You keep driving straight ahead for about 3 km. The street will change names a few times into Van Woustraat, Westeinde, Frederiksplein and finally Utrechtsestraat. As soon as you are in the Utrechtsestraat you will cross the bridge over the Prinsengracht. Here you take a left down the canal and cross one small bridge. After that you will find us at number 1015.When arriving from UtrechtBreda (A2) you will come to the ringroad A10. Go straight ahead and follow the signs CENTRUM. Then pass the Utrechtsebrug and go straight ahead into the Rijnstraat. From there follow the directions as mentioned above.From the airportTake a train from Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station and from there take tram number 4 to Prinsengracht (6th stop). Turn right on the right side of the canal (prinsengracht) and after 200 metres you will find us on your right hand side. Or you take numbers 16, 25 or 24 from the Central Station to the 5th stop at Keizersgracht. When you get out of the tram you walk straight ahead and turn left on Prinsengracht. After approximately 200 metres you will find us on your left side.You can also take a taxi from the airport, which will cost around 35-40 or around 15from Central Station.
