HEM Hotel Amsterdam has one large conference room which offers excellent facilities for conferences and parties equipped with modern audio-visual equipment as well as wireless internet connection. There is a range of conference facilities; these can include meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and/or overnight accommodation (the hotel will be pleased to arrange a package to suit your individual requirements).

The HEM Hotel Amsterdam*** is perfectly located in the centre/west part of Amsterdam, only 5 minutes from the RAI Convention Centre, World Fashion Centre and World Trade Centre. Within 10 minutes you can reach the hotel from Schiphol Airport (there is a paid airport shuttle service from and to Schiphol Airport and the Amsterdam City Centre). In the hotel you will find a cozy bar where they serve an a la carte lunch, a restaurant with a breakfast and diner buffet, meeting rooms and a beautiful indoor garden. Parking is available on site at 10 Euro per day. The tourist attractions in and around Amsterdam can easily be reached by public transport or car. The reception will be pleased to help you to plan an excursion or give all the information required to make your stay unforgettable. All smoking and non-smoking rooms have a private bathroom with shower/toilet, TV, radio, telephone, dressing table, working desk and wireless modem connection. This hotel is located close to the centre of Amsterdam and just off the highway A10 which has good connections by car to the airport – it is reachable within 20 minutes. The hotel is within very easy access to the city centre with tram #2 which takes you to the centre of town within 10 minutes, and, for the energetic traveler, it is possible to walk to the centre via the beautiful Vondel Park within approximately 30 minutes. There is also a shuttle bus to the airport from this hotel but it is not free of charge.

The Hem annex rooms are, as the name suggests, located in an annex next to the main hotel building and the bedrooms in this part of the hotel are officially of a 2 star standard. They are smaller than the rooms in the main building and are more basic but are still in good condition, as are the bathrooms which are all with shower only. All the public facilities such as check in and restaurant and bar etc. are located in the main hotel building and all guests receive the same breakfast as those staying in the 3 star accommodation.

There is a very large restaurant which was renovated in 2007 and offers a more modern look. This is located on the ground floor and currently serves a large hot buffet breakfast only, although adjacent to this is a bar area offering drinks and a pool table. In the modernized hotel lobby there is a small cafe serving light snacks, and, weather permitting, guests can sit in the small garden at the front of the hotel

The lobby is large with ample seating and a lovely, welcoming terrace where, in the summer months, guests can have a bite to eat or a drink. It was also given a facelift in 2007 and again offers a more modern look with modern and welcoming seating and a much more attractive entrance than prior to its renovation.

This is a modern building with no special features; however, it does have an attractive terrace at the front of the hotel’s entrance and meals and drinks may be served out here, weather permitting.

This is a good property located in a quieter part of Amsterdam but still within very easy reach of all tourist attractions, Central Station, and the airport, and it comes highly recommended. 07/2008/JG
