Hotel Helvetia Bristol can claim many prominent figures entering its doors, from international nobility to artists and Nobel prize winners. This 19th-century hotel is a block from the designer shops of Via Tornabouni, two blocks from Il Duomo, and four blocks from Santa Maria Novella Church and the Ufizzi gallery. The hotel has a small library of books available in English, Italian, French, and German, as well as a restaurant serving fine Italian cuisine under a stained-glass roof. The 67 lavish guestrooms are individually decorated with silk wall coverings and antique-reproduction furnishings. Carrara-marble bathrooms have scales and hair dryers. The restaurant has a red fitted carpet and special textiles to cover the walls which are also decorated with period paintings. The room has soft lighting to give a warm and cosy feel. On the ground floor there is a nice breakfast room called 'The Winter garden' which functions also as a cocktail bar, it has a glass window ceiling so it is very bright and decorated with hanging plants from the ceiling.

You can find the Mahogany check-in desk on your right hand side, all in wood and an enchanting seating area decorated with period paintings, beautiful table lamps and Persian carpets. The seating areas are furnished in different styles, some with red easy-chairs and paintings, others with green sofas and fireplace.

This is a Renaissance period building which has been perfectly maintained and cared for over the centuries. The entrance is a little on the small side but is watched over by an immaculately groomed staff who really try their best to see to a guest’s every need.
