Antica Locanda Sturion in Venice

This small charming locanda is beautifully located along the Grand Canal, few metres away from the stunning Rialto Bridge, which can be admired from the locanda's balcony. There are many boat lines stopping at Rialto boat stop both from Piazzale Roma or the train station, or from San Mark's Square, which is only 10 minutes walk away. Rooms have been recently renovated in an elegant, traditional Venetian style. Precious fabrics and dark wooden furnishings have been tastefully chosen to make these rooms very attractive and comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms are in very good condition and are equipped with all the comforts, including tea and coffee facilities. Rooms vary in size and category; there are also a couple of deluxe rooms with Grand Canal view. There is an elegant and cosy breakfast room, bright and luminous, which overlooks the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. Lobby is small and at the top a long block of stairs. There is no lift due to age of the building, which must be preserved. From the lobby there is access to the breakfast room, which became a lovely reading area after breakfast. There is also a handy small library at the guest's disposal or some table games for children. Typical Venetian building dated back to the 13th century. Excellent location for a good standard, family run hotel. Due to the quality and value of the fabrics used to decor, this hotel is suitable to non smokers only. (CQ02/05)
