The hotel occupies part of an antique palace, which dates back to the 16th century and was originally an old monastery. During the restoration the hotel retained structural elements such as wooden beams and stone arches, thus maintaining the traditional Florentine style and simultaneously offering all modern comforts. This hotel was completely renovated in 2002 and comprises 3 floors with a total of 58 rooms. Guests may make use of the cosy bar.

The Hotel Atlantic Palace is located in the historical centre of Florence, a short walk from the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. The hotel dates back to the 1600's and was originally an old monastery. Many original features have been retained including the wooden beams and stone arches which maintain the old Florentine style.

The hotel is located on the Via Nazionale, which has many hotels and is very close to the main railway station. It is right next to the famous street market of San Lorenzo, and the hotel has a perfect location for easy access to all of Florence's major attractions. The rooms are generally medium in size, with terracotta tile flooring and walnut wood fixtures and fittings. Most rooms have high ceilings, with large wooden beams or rafters. Situated on the ground floor, the breakfast room is designed in typical Florentine Renaissance style. It is very well lit and contains a lot of greenery, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. Recently renovated, the medium-sized lobby has traditional polished terracotta flooring, Persian rugs, potted plants and a small aquarium. There is a small bar serving cocktails and aperitifs in the evening. This is a traditional Italian palazzo, which blends in well with the surrounding buildings. The hotel facade and entrance have been completely renovated. At night, the entrance is well illuminated. This is a lovely hotel, recently renovated to a high standard, in a central location. By car: out of the Northern Highway in Florence (Airport), or coming from any other provincial or highway or freeway and follow the signs to the city center and train station of Santa Maria Novella. Then take on Viali Circonvallazione City and follow the signs to the Fortezza da Basso. From Fortezza da Basso take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini towards Liberty Square, and then to the first intersection with traffic lights turn right into St. Caterina DAlessandria and continue straight through Independence Square. Beyond that square you will be directly in Via Nazionale you need to go again for about 500 metres. Exceed intersection with a traffic light, until you find on your first. National Garage right and then left on the Atlantic Palace Hotel.

Sta Maria Novella railway station is 100 metres from the hotel. By car: going out of the highway to Florence Nord (airport), or arriving from any other main or provincial road or from motorway link, follow indication for the centre and the station of St Maria Novella. Then introduce on the avenues of bypass of the city and follow the indications for the Fortezza da Basso.
