Renovated from an ancient Medici palace in the heart of the city centre, this hotel rests a few steps from the Duomo Cathedral and near the main museums. Hotel Martelli is a traditional Florentine style home. The living and breakfast rooms have maintained their original features, decorated with ancient furniture and adorned with wonderful frescoes. The hotel was the home of Bartolini Salimbeni's family, an ancient Florentine merchant family. It is said that Caterina De' Medici stayed in one of the rooms.

The elegant Hotel Martelli is housed in an ancient Medicean palace, in the very historical city centre of Florence only a few steps away from Duomo (Cathedral), the Uffizi Gallery, the most important museum of Florence, and the railway station of Santa Maria Novella. Both the living room and the breakfast room have maintained their original Florentine style and are equipped with ancient furniture and decorated with wonderful frescoes on the walls. All the bedrooms have a modern design blending with the traditional and elegant character of the Hotel.

The hotel is very centrally located on the main road that leads from the station to the Duomo, and is within walking distance of all the major historical sites.

The bedrooms are different in size and furnished in a traditional style. Rooms have 'cotto' floor and cream walls. Some of them have a canopy at the head of the bed.

There is only a breakfast room available.

The lobby is very small, decorated with terracotta tiles and wooden furniture and is located on the ground floor. The sitting area is pleasantly decorated, part of the rooms have brick walls giving a rustic atmosphere. The sitting area also has a 'cotto' floor and carpets with easy-chairs and wooden tables.

This is a traditional Florentine building dating from the sixteenth century, and used to belong to the Medici family.

The Hotel Martelli is centrally situated only five minutes from the nearest airport, close to the nearest railway station of Santa Maria Novella and a few minutes walk to nearest bus stop. The hotel is located on the main road leading from the station to the Duomo, within walking distance of all the major historic sites.

This charming hotel is housed within a former palazzo from the Medici era and is family owned. The atmosphere is hospitable and guests are warmly welcomed. There are a total of 51 rooms spread over 4 floors with facilities including an inviting, air-conditioned foyer with a reception desk and a lift as well as a cosy bar and a restaurant. Car parks and garages for those arriving by car are to be found in the near vicinity.
