Rhodes Town is the capital of Rhodes and one of its centrepiece attractions. It is therefore no surprise that the town is bustling with accommodation options, with something to favour every taste and budget.
Most of Rhodes town can be comfortably navigated on foot, but choosing a location is still important in terms of atmosphere and immediacy of landscape. Most of the high-end hotels are located in the new town, as well as along the harbour front, which doubles up as the commercial centre of the island, with excellent shopping and contemporary restaurants on offer.
For cosier, more intimate hotels, you are better off staying within the fortified Walls of the Old Town – though beware, you will be paying a mark up for the picturesque location (the Old Town is a world heritage site).
One of the best hotels in Rhodes Town is the 5-star Electra Palace Hotel Rhodes. If that’s a little beyond your budget you may want to consider the 4-star Hotel Angela Suites & Lobby instead. Both of these hotels cater well for families with children.
An excellent mid-range option is the 3-star Alexia, which boasts an enviable location, just 30 metres from the beach as well as being within easy reach of the delights of the Old Town. For a real budget option, there is the 2-star Lydia Hotel which is also well situated for reaching all of the main attractions of Rhodes Town.
