Palermo has a good selection of accommodation at prices to suit most budgets, with options ranging from hotels and apartments to guesthouses, hostels and campsites.
One of the best hotels in Palermo is the 5-star Villa Igiea, located on the slopes of Monte Pellegrino, which has hosted a number of high-profile figures including royalty.
Another hotel that has attracted celebrity guests is the 4-star Grand Hotel et des Palmes, one of the city's oldest hotels.
Palermo has a good selection of mid-range hotels and guesthouses, with most of them to be found to the north of the Quattro Canti district.
The majority of Palermo's budget hotels are located on Via Maqueda and Via Roma in Palermo’s old town. The 2-star Moderno Hotel, on Via Roma, benefits from a great location, close to restaurants, shops and historic monuments.
The 1-star Orientale Hotel, on Via Maqueda, is 100 metres from the central station, and is housed in the royal apartments of the Filangeri Palace, which is an impressive example of Sicilian architecture.
