For nightlife Headington and Cowley Road areas offer many bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs, ethnic shops and fast food outlets. High Street and Turl Street, also known as “The Turl,” are to Oxford’s colleges and the high student population brings in many youth oriented bars and restaurants.
Culture is all over High Street, which is typically recognized as the center of Oxford. Many of the colleges are also located here.
Theatre is situated all over Oxford, however, the most noted places are George Street’s New Theatre, Old Fire Station Theatre, and Odeon Cinema or Magdalen Street’s Pegasus and Odeon theatres.
Shopper’s will delight in all that Golden Cross, Clarendon Shopping Centre, Cornmarket Street, Queen Street, Little Clarendon Street, The Broad, and George Street have to offer. The Covered Market is also a more eclectic place with many stalls in a historic setting located on Turl Street.
