Granada has a great variety of hotels, whether in the centre or further out, from low-budget establishments to luxurious Moorish palaces. Granada is particularly suited to backpackers, with a lot of night-life and cheap markets, but all types of hotels in Granada can be found throughout the city. Going southwards from the Museo de la Capilla Real, to streets like Calle Aguila and
Calle Angel Canivet, a whole host of 2, 3 and the odd 5 star hotel can be found. In other words, hotels to suit all tastes, but particularly mindful of people with a lower budget.
As previously mentioned, Granada is littered with reasonably-priced, nice 2 star hotels that are within walking distance of the markets, bars and sights. Most notable of these is Hotel Atenas in Gran Via Colon, which is also very close to the Cathedral. Two very worthy 1 star options are the Albaro and Carlos V Granada hotels, located on Avenida Santa Maria de la Alhambra and respectively. Both have received consistently excellent reviews from visitors.
Mid-range options include Tryp Albyzin, on Carrera del Grenil, which boasts not only a great selection of rooms and amenities, but also offers up a good spot from which to visit Granada's many attractions. Another 3 star hotel worth looking at is Plaza Nueva Hotel, particularly if you are more romantically-inclined.
At the higher end of the price are 4 star pads such as Sercotel Carmen, which comes with a terrace bar, and is a perfect spot in which to watch look out at the heart of the city. A quality 3 star offering is the Guadalupe, a lovely and clean hotel which is right by the Alhambra and various gardens in its vicinity.
