Hotels in Florence are mostly scattered around the focal point of the River Arno, with accommodation tending to border on the expensive, particularly in the high point of the tourist season throughout July-August. There are however some good budget deals to be found both here and further away from town. There are some quality 3 star Florence hotels in and around the vicinity of the Santa Maria Maggiore, with Lungamo Corsini, the district closest to the river, naturally offering travellers rooms in the more expensive 4 star bracket.
One such bargain is the 2 star Bevenuti Hotel, which is located in a Via Cavour, quiet street just a five minute walk from the River Arno, and comes with bright and spacious rooms and attentive staff, which adds an all-round relaxing atmosphere to this affordable and convenient budget-base. A great 2 star place is the Giada Hotel on Canto de Nelli, a small, comfortable and friendly hotel which has received perfect reviews from many customers.
For anyone wishes to stay outside the main vicinity, one Florence hotel, Villa Le Rondini, offers unrivalled views of city, at a value-for-money mid-range price. Another good 3 star option is the Perseo Hotel, which gives you both a great location and a room with a whole host of modern amenities.
There are of course more glamorous alternatives, and given its romantic status Florence offers up quality, elegant 4 star accommodation both close to and overlooking the river, in the form of Hotel Firenze and Villa Carlotta.
