If you like the sound of the Cathedral Quarter, you could book into the Jury’s Inn Derby (***) which is right in the middle of that area. Or, you could try the Cathedral Quarter Hotel (****), which is housed in the Old Police Station and is the first designer boutique hotel in the area. SACO Derby (****) offers apartments in a peaceful conservation area which overlooks a brook, yet is still conveniently located close to the centre of the city. The Swallow Hotel Derby (**) is located across the road from the railway station and within walking distance to the main shopping areas. If you’d like to stay outside the city centre, try the Mackworth Hotel (***), a converted 18th century farmhouse with views over the Peak District and just a couple of miles from the hustle and bustle of Derby.
