Given it's allegiance to the glitz and glamour of the film world, Cannes still has a diverse range of accommodation to suit all holiday-makers, from budget bases right up to the grandiose, luxury pads that come as expected. It is important to note, however, that when celebrities across the globe descend upon Cannes for its annual film festival, hotels in every bracket are subject to price-hikes.
With its buzzing night-life, glorious shopping and fabulous beaches located in and around La Croisette promenade, most of the exclusive, high-end hotels in Cannes are nestled in this vicinity. A typical example of the sort of the elegance on offer is La Villa Cannes Croisette, with its provencal decor, bubbling champagne and ideal location on the cusp of the beaches.
For more affordable accommodation, the best place to stay is in the centre, where you will find plenty of budget Cannes hotels, such as the PLM Hotel, which still comes with all modern amenities such as wifi and air-conditioning and is ideal for anyone planning to attend events at the Palais des Festivals.
If you're looking for a more characterful Cannes hotel, then you'd be better off staying in the Old Town, where the buildings are older and have more historic charm. As well as offering views of the sea and the Estrel mountains, the mid-range Hotel des Orangers comes with modern, furnished rooms, a garden and a swimming pool.
