If you intend to visit many of Brisbane’s tourist attractions and landmarks, then hotels within the city centre are certainly the best option. Spring Hill to the north of the centre is a popular area, and is home to the 4-star Oxygen Apartments which is perched high on a hill-top overlooking the city.
Petrie Terrace on the western side, Fortitude Valley and New Farm to the north-east, and the West End District on the southerly side, are other areas with a large concentration of hotels. Located in the West End is the 4-star Central West End Apartments, which offers luxury studio rooms or self contained one and two-bedroom apartments.
The suburbs of Brisbane tend to be preferred by families looking for recreational parks. Popular suburbs for hotels are Paddington and the Petrie Terrace, on the western side of the city centre. The 3-star Holiday Inn Brisbane is close to the Petrie Terrace and is adjacent to the vast Brisbane Transit Centre.
For cheap accommodation in Brisbane, look along Gregory Terrace and Wickham Street, both of which reside on the northerly side of the city. The 2-star Brisbane Manor Hotel can be found on Gregory Terrace and is housed in a building that dates back to the beginning of the 19th century.
Main Street, within the Kangaroo Point area, is another good place to look for affordable hotels. A good mid-range hotel in this area is the 3-star City Star Motor Inn.
