The first recommendation for where to stay in Alcudia is a health and safety one. As the main road running the length of the coast gets extremely busy in high season, it would be a good idea to find an Alcudia hotel on the beach side, so you don't have to keep dodging the traffic.
In terms of location, the old town has seen an emergence of boutique hotels which are of a very high standard, though short in supply (some only have a handful of rooms) and also expensive. They are, however, a novelty experience and highly recommended if you’re not on a budget.
There are only a couple of 5-star hotels in Alcudia, one of which is the Palace De Muro, south of the town centre. This hotel is excellently located, right on the beach and opposite the Albufera nature reserve.
A good mid-range option is the 3-star Alcudia Garden, which is also well situated, close to the port of Alcudia and with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by, as well as the beach across the dreaded main road, if you’re prepared to disregard previous advice.
The Bellevue area, south of the centre, is more suited to visitors looking for nightlife, and a good hotel in this part of Alcudia is the 3-star Astoria Playa. The beach is a few minutes away, also across the main road.
