Ireland West Airport Knock (formally Knock International Airport) is an international airport serving County Mayo in the west of Ireland. It is located 3.5 miles south of the town of Charlestown and about 10 northeast of the village of Knock, from which the airport takes its name. The airport opened its doors on the 20th of May 1986; it was created in a bid to stimulate tourism and business in the west of Ireland, until then a relatively overlooked part of the country. Another function of the airport is to give pilgrims from abroad easy access to the famous Knock Shrine. Ireland West Airport Knock handled 0.63 million passengers in 2008, primarily from destinations across the UK. The bulk of air services at the airport are operated by scheduled airlines offering short-haul flights to destinations abroad. Charter airlines flying to holiday destinations are also popular during the holiday season.

The airport is set in a fairly remote location, so international passengers arriving here may find the airport somewhat lacking in the facilities found at larger airports.
