IATA code: GOT
Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport is the larger of two international airports serving the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. In terms of passenger numbers it is Sweden's second busiest airport; it handled 4.38 million passengers in 2007, making it the 77th busiest airport in Europe that year. Sweden's largest airport, Stockholm-Arlanda, served 17.97 million passengers during the same period. There are two terminals at Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport, one for international travel and one for domestic services; it serves many regional airports throughout Sweden. International flights are primarily served by scheduled airlines and national carriers. Low-cost airlines mainly use the city's other air hub, Gothenburg City Airport. Over 20 airlines currently offer scheduled flights from Gothenburg-Landvetter to domestic and international destinations, with a particular focus on neighbouring Nordic countries.
The airport opened in 1977, when it replaced Gothenburg's former main airport at Torslanda. Passenger facilities here include a restaurant, cafes, shops and an airport hotel
