Frankfurt Airport is Germany's main international airport. It offers flights to domestic and international destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, the Caribbean, Oceania and the Middle East. The airport handled just over 54 million passengers in 2007, which made it the 8th busiest airport in the world and the 3rd busiest airport in Europe that year. London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle were the only European airports to record higher passenger numbers during the same period. In terms of international destinations served, Frankfurt could be considered the largest airport in the world. It currently offers non-stop flights to around 265 domestic and international locations. The airport is located 7 miles southwest of Frankfurt city centre, near the town of Kelsterbach.
Passengers arrive here from all over the world, and as is to be expected of a major international travel hub, there is a wide range of facilities to cater for all travel requirements.
