Cork Airport is one of the principle airports of the Republic of Ireland. In terms of passengers served, it was the 3rd busiest airport in Ireland during 2007. It handled 3.18 million passengers that year; the only Irish airports to see higher passenger numbers during the same period were Dublin and Shannon. The airport is located 5 miles to the south of Cork city centre in an area known as Farmers Cross.
