Cologne Airport Guide

Name: Cologne/Bonn Airport
IATA code: CGN

Cologne/Bonn Airport is an international airport in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It serves the cities of Cologne and Bonn, as well as the surrounding area. The airport is situated almost equidistant between the two cities (9.5 miles southeast of Cologne city centre and 9.5 miles north-northeast of Bonn city centre). It served just over 10.47 million passengers in 2007, which made it the 6th busiest airport in Germany and the 34th busiest in Europe altogether for that year. Passenger numbers have grown steadily here over the last decade in response to the rising popularity of budget air travel and the airport is now a major hub for the low-cost airlines German Wings and TUlfly. These and other low-cost airlines, as well as charter operators, account for the bulk of commercial air activity here. Cologne/Bonn Airport currently offers scheduled and charter flights to destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
