Brussels South Charleroi Airport is situated 4.35 miles north of central Charleroi and some 29 miles south of Brussels. It is served mainly by low-cost airlines flying between the Belgian capital and international destinations throughout Europe and North Africa; there are currently no domestic services on offer at the airport. Ryanair established one of its first continental bases at the airport and still maintains a large presence here.
